Description
These small gau made of silver and gold colored metal have a unique design that allows the gold manta band to rotate like a prayer wheel around the central cylinder of the gau. The beaded ring around the bottom also rotates around the cylinder so that it can be used as a very small mala that you can carry with you. The mantra on the cylinder is written in Landza script and reads, OM MANI PADME HUNG.
Gau: Tib. གའུ gau, is a Tibetan amulet or locket that contains holy relics, prayers, images, and other sacred substances. Smaller gau can be worn around the neck while larger ones are placed on shrines.
Lanza Script: An ancient calligraphic form of Sanskrit used for writing mantra that often adorns holy books and objects.
