Singing bowl: The singing bowl is a type of standing bell that sits with its bottom surface on a pillow or table. When struck with a mallet singing bowls make a rich harmonic sound. Singing bowls are used in Buddhist shrines during prayer and meditation (for example, to signal the beginning and end to a meditation session).
